Project ORB officially announces the first WILLCOIN Sale
Project ORB along with Force of Will is going to host the first WILLCOIN sale this November. Force of Will game items will be issued on the blockchain via Counterparty and become interoperable with Spells of Genesis through Book of Orbs.
About Force of Will
Force of Will (FoW) is a popular trading card game which boasts more than 100,000 active players across the globe. FoW is especially popular in North America and Europe and has been ranked 4th in the Top 10 Hobby Channel Collectible Games — Fall 2015, following only Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, and Pokemon TCG.
After being inspired by Spells of Genesis (SoG) use of the Bitcoin blockchain, Force of Will decided to issue their digital game items as blockchain assets and explore the blockchain game space along with Project ORB.
Spells of Genesis’s early success and FoW’s involvement
Tokenization of game items on the blockchain was pioneered by EverdreamSoft and SoG. SoG ORBs are actively traded on the blockchain between players, some of which have been traded for more than 3,000 USD in value in the past. SoG has pioneered the concept of “true ownership” of digital assets and digital scarcity using blockchain technology. Working alongside with Project ORB, a joint venture between EverdreamSoft and IndieSquare, FoW’s involvement will likely push this trend even further.
Force of Will ORBs use cases
FoW’s digital cards are tokens issued via Counterparty on the Bitcoin blockchain. We call tokenized game items ORBs, which stand for “Ownership Revolution on the Blockchain”.
FoW ORBs will become playable on FoW Battle Simulator (FBS) during or a little after the WILLCOIN sale’s end, enhancing the visual effect of your cards on FBS depending on your ORB holdings. ORB possession makes you stand out from the crowd and improve your game experience.
Another interesting fact is that some of the FoW ORBs will become playable in SoG, making them the first large scale cross-game promotion, taking advantage of ORB’s unique, interoperable nature.
Furthermore, depending on the sale outcome and community reaction, FoW may be considering ORB integration in their future mobile game and some other applications beyond FBS.
About WILLCOIN
WILLCOIN is a Counterparty token that plays a role similar to a “lottery ticket” for FoW ORBs. By “burning” (sending it to a dedicated address where it can’t be withdrawn from) 1 WILLCOIN, you will be rewarded with 1 FoW ORB at random on the Book of Orbs app.
(“ORB Fountain”(the drawing feature) will be closed-beta and available to registered testers at the start of the sale but is scheduled to be made public by the end of the sale(12/22))
It will also be used as the exchange currency for FoW ORB trading on the Book of Orbs (BoO) mobile app.
Also, in the near future, current FoW players will be able to convert their Will Power Points (FoW’s proprietary loyalty points) to WILLCOIN through Book of Orbs and start collecting FoW ORBs without buying Bitcoin directly.(More about the WPS integration mentioned later in the announcement)
Force of Will sale details
We will start selling a limited number of WILLCOIN, for Bitcoin before the Season 2 kickoff scheduled in December and start supporting Will Power Points to WILLCOIN conversion. (FoW will announce this on their website and promote BoO on their marketing channels then)
The details of the sale are as follows. WILLCOIN purchasers will have an opportunity to test the FBS and BoO earlier than others and also have better chance of getting Season 1 FoW ORBs.
Dates
The WILLCOIN token sale will start on Nov 28th (Mon) at 3PM CET and last until December 22nd or until all coins have been sold out.
Pricing
A total of 20,000 WILLCOIN will be available for this initial sale and it will be sold in 4 separate batches of 5,000 WILLCOIN each. We adopt a step up pricing in order to encourage early adopter to participate.

- 0,0064 BTC/WILLCOIN for the 2nd batch (5001–10,000)
- 0,0066 BTC/WILLCOIN for the 3rd batch (10,001–15,000)

Rarity of Season 1 cards
All Season 1 FoW ORBs (160 unique designs total) have a limited supply of 1,000 each and the issuances are already locked. Addition of new cards (Season 2) is scheduled in December and Season 1 cards will become probabilistically harder to acquire after Season 2. Therefore, by purchasing WILLCOIN in the initial sale, buyers will have a better chance of collecting and completing Season 1 Orbs than those who will join later.
Future integration between Book of Orbs and WILL Power System
After FoW Season 2 launch, scheduled for December 2016, Book of Orbs will become linkable with the FoW Will Power System and FoW players will be able to convert FoW’s proprietary Will Power Points to WILLCOIN tokens on the blockchain with ease without any prior knowledge in Bitcoin or blockchain. This ensures lower barrier of entry for current FoW players to the blockchain ecosystem and enjoy the full benefits of the ORB ecosystem.
