Three Simple Steps

I remember someone once asking Tony Robbins how he managed to shift so many books, tapes, CDs and digital media. His answer was that 95% of everyone buying this stuff never acts upon it. But they love the content. They linger over the passion and the principles. But it remains imprisoned in their preferred listening device.

It’s sad, but we’re humans, and noone gave us an option to be wired for performance. We’re still essentially the same fools who chased food and the opposite sex and died early because we failed and died. Possibly by chasing the food for sex, or the opposite sex for food. But we don’t know for sure, because our spades aren’t long enough and we didn’t have the Darwin Awards in prehistoric times.

So what Trevor’s done here is pretty smart. He’s prescribed the stupid-simple guide to success. You don’t need to strip away layers of complexity from Three Simple Steps: A Map to Success in Business and Life. And the pantheon of incredible testimonials demonstrates as if we needed reminding, that simple sells.

Which begs the question: why are so many self help and business growth books so damn complicated? WHy are they written by people with the personality of an overgrown chrysanthemum (and I know this outburst will lead to a lot of hate mail from chrysanthemum mums).

I don’t want to ruin the suspense that lies behind the title of this book, but equally I want you to know what you’re getting yourself into.

Those three steps are:

  1. Reclaiming your mentality
  2. Creating winning ideas
  3. Turning your ideas into reality

Trevor also focuses on three stages:

  • Escaping The Quicksand
  • Staying Out Of The Quicksand
  • Beyond The Quicksand

If you’re a regular browser of my book reviews you’ll know I don’t like to give away the farm. These are reviews. This is not Blinkist.

But equally, I think my reviews are charmless. They are undeserving of breaking apart the secrets of an author’s sustained efforts to delight your eyes and mind.

Do the work. Read Three Simple Steps: A Map to Success in Business and Life.

And then forget everything you learned and go back to your miserable life. Or show us you’re made of tougher stuff, succeed, and then report back to this review and we can both gloat at the losers who tried following in your footsteps but eventually got seduced instead by the path marked Cat Pictures on Facebook.
