Early voting is a salient feature of American elections. The 2024 US presidential election day is still fourteen days away. However, in a recent article of the New York Times, Nick Corasaniti mentions that more than fifteen million people have already cast their ballot for American election (Corasaniti 2024). This early voting number is very high if we compare the number of early voting in the 2020 US Presidential Election.

During that Pandemic time election, approximately thirty million people cast their vote early (Corasanity 2024 ). No doubt, in this year’s US presidential election of the United States, the total number of casting early vote would much higher than that of any of the preceding US Presidential election.

Since the 2020 US Election day, i.e., during the Covid-19 pandemic time, both early voting and mail-in ballot become very popular for casting vote. In fact, many states have been expecting a record number of early voting.

However, in the 2024 Presidential Election of the United States, there might be multiple reasons why the American voters are preferring early voting.

Recent natural disasters like Hurricane Helene as well as tropical storm Oscar might invoke many voters to cast early voting.
