Treat Williams, whose full name was Richard Treat Williams, died recently in a motorcycle accident in Vermont through no fault of his own. He was 71 years old. His agent said, “Treat has been the heart of Hollywood since the late 70’s.”

Treat made his movie debut in 1975 as a police officer in “Deadly Hero.” He went on to appear in more than 120 TV and film roles, including “The Eagle Has Landed,” “Prince of The City,” and “Once Upon a Time in America.”

As a tribute to him I’m watching one of his most popular series, “Everwood.”
I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed his acting and especially to any boomers who miss the way things used to be forty years ago (more or less). Although the ‘Everwood’ series began in 2003.

Treat’s friends and colleagues recently praised him as a kind, generous, creative man. James Woods tweeted of him, “his resilient good cheer and sense of humor was a Godsend.”
