Why are People Choosing Cremation Over Burial

Is it simply because it’s more affordable

Per my research more people are choosing cremation since 2015’ than ever before.

The number one reason is because the expense of a traditional funeral has increased to $10k and that usually doesn’t include the burial plot and a grave marker. While a typical cremation is $2,500 it can be done for as little as $800.

There are many other reasons to choose cremation which include the following:

People want their death to be celebrated in a more personal way by their loved ones.

“With many people moving away from the traditional coupling of religion from death, survivors are choosing to celebrate the life of their loved one in more unique ways.
The scattering of ashes at sea, or in your own backyard, or planted with a memorial tree, is more appealing to many people. Not to mention incorporating ashes into jewelry, or even tattoos, is being done much more often now.”

Claustrophobia is another reason people will choose cremation.

For some people the idea of lying in a coffin makes them squeamish, especially if they are claustrophobic. Also the thought of perhaps being dug up…
