Bitcoin first appeared in 2008 and since then blockchain has been rapidly evolving. It was only a matter of time before the $300 billion gaming sector entered the world of blockchain.
Even though the Play And Earn blockchain gaming market is in its infancy, it already has a staggering $21 billion valuation. Its quick success is partly due to the high volume trading of non-fungible tokens or NFTs; in 2021 there were $25 billion dollars in sales.
Quality Issues in Blockchain Game Design
One of the key issues we discovered is that although there is a high demand for Play and Earn games, most of the current titles are of low quality and lacking in terms of game design and enjoyment.
We soon realized that the majority of blockchain games were being developed by teams with limited knowledge of creating fun and exciting video games, and a shortage of gaming studios with the skills to create decent Web 3.0 blockchain titles.
The Solution
Out of a need for quality, blockchain video games, BoomLand was born. We managed to overcome the barrier to entry into Web 3.0 game development and assembled a team capable of delivering highly enjoyable blockchain games.
