DOUBT kills more dreams than failure

One of the hardest lessons that you, or anyone can learn in the world of e-commerce and the wider world of business is that doubt can kill more of your dreams than failure ever will.

I can remember, just before the launch of my very first business, there was this nagging voice. Come on you know it, you’ve heard it as well that, “What if” the “What if this happens”, the “What if it all goes wrong?”

The constant questions is enough to drive anyone to think this is not a good idea and to abandon their dreams.

The Safety Valve

One might argue that your doubt is your safety valve, a mechanism built within your brain to keep you and those around you safe.

Yet, a ship is built to float in the harbour but it will not make a skilled crew staying in Torquay harbour. Unfortunately the only way you’re going to get rid of that doubt is by hitting the launch button.

1. Ask yourself, did you really spend the past few weeks/months building your online store just for it to remain on your local machine? Did you really spend thousands on stock, thousands with your web agency just to have a collection of files? Remind yourself why you invested in this in the first place.
2. Stop worrying about what could go wrong, and start getting excited about what can go right. It sounds corny, and it is. But there is truth in it, sure with launching your online store you run the risk that no one will buy from you, you run the risk of failing, you run the risk of losing but you will never know if anyone is going to buy from you unless you launch your online store.
3. Success is on the other side. Whether you believe it or not, I certainly do, success is just on the other side of that door. Launching your online store now will put you on the path to success, no its not going to make you a millionaire overnight but it will be a benchmark for when you began to take ownership of your own life.
