The reason you find writing content for your website difficult is because of three things, one you don’t want to do it, two you’re unsure where to start and three you don’t understand your audience enough.

The important element to remember when writing content for your website is not to give up. I know it can be very hard sitting down thinking about what piece of content you want on which page, believe me I’ve been there.

Here are three things that I do when I can’t get into the content writing mindset.

  1. The first step to overcoming this pain is getting yourself into the mindset of writing the content. Start off with a notepad, a coffee/tea and silence, then just let those ideas flow pop them down in your notepad, ensure you keep in mind throughout your target audience.
  2. The second step, is to take all of those words, thoughts, concepts and turn them into a spider diagram for each web page. Remembering that each of your web pages should be signing off with a call to action (CTA), a step you want your visitor to do, your content should flow and lead them to the point where they are faced with a CTA.
  3. Speak to your audience, who’s purchased from you in the past? Don’t have a customer base then its time to do a bit of networking and relationship building, head out and ask your ideal customer.

Lastly here is a short video with some more tips of putting your content together.
