What’s new in Boost Note in May: Smart Folder, Doc Property, Comment & Many More!
This month we are introducing three important updates, Smart Folder, Document Property and Comment features.
We also added numerous improvements based on your feedback. Check out below for all the updates!
1. Smart Folder
When it comes to note taking and wiki tools, the more information you have, the more chaotic it can become to manage and search information.
We wanted to solve this problem to achieve the goal of “access the necessary information within 5 seconds”.
The Smart folder is a kind of folder with special features. Unlike regular folders, the smart folder will filter all documents in Boost Note according to the conditions, such as document information, status, labels and so on, you set, and assemble all documents that meet these conditions in the Smart Folder.

2. Document Property
It allows you to organize documents more flexibly and more intelligently.
You can set the Status to In Progress for doc in progress, Completed when finished, Due Date for doc with deadlines, etc. Customize and manage doc in your way.
We are planning to introduce the customizable workflow using properties such as following examples next Month. Don’t hesitate to share your idea to us if you have!
- Assigned member → Send a notification
- Due date arrived → Change status to completed automatically
- Label attached → Assign member automatically
- and more
3. Comment and Notification
To boost developer team’s productivity, we listen carefully to feedback from our users everyday.
We rolled out the most common feedback from users- comment!
You can add comments to the entire document or to each line, allowing you to actively communicate with your team members.
We’ll introduce mentions inside the comment next week!
4. Side navigation sorting
This is a relatively small improvement, but one that many of users have asked for. You can sort the folders and docs in the side navigation. Thanks to all who sent feedback!
We also implemented the category sorting, you can drag and drop to change the order of categories such as Bookmarks, Workspaces, Labels, etc in your favor.
June roadmap: Mobile apps
Finally we decided to launch the mobile apps for iOS and Android! We’ve already stared to implement and do our best to launch in June!
As well as mobile apps, we are planning to make various improvements and add new features in June. If you have any feedback, don’t hesitate to share it with us!
Migrate documents now
Boost Note supports importing documents from other note-taking services such as Notion, Confluence, Evernote, Dropbox Paper, Quip, etc., and file formats for Markdown, Text, and HTML.
