It is scary but true that in this digital age, you do not own anything. All the photos and videos you have on any social media platform belong to the platform, not you. The moment you upload them to Instagram and YouTube, you lose your ownership of your creation. Yet the very reason Instagram and YouTube are so popular is that you are actively posting and commenting on them. That’s why even though Instagram is being valued at more than $100 billion, it has nothing to do with you even though you post there daily.
This problem is more severe for social media content creators. They spend a lot of time and money producing high-quality materials for people to watch online, for the purpose of either educating or entertaining. But if one day all those platforms decide to shut down, then everything will be gone. There will be no evidence that those creators ever existed on these platforms. And besides the problem of ownership, even if influencers can prove their ownership of their creations, platforms cut into their revenues. When you decide to tip your favorite influencers for their amazing content, YouTube charges 50% of your tip.
With the goal of bringing power back to all content creators and makers, BOOSTO uses blockchain technology to build a marketplace where there will be no middleman to take away revenue, and creators can own — and prove ownership of — their creations. Using blockchain this way, to restore ownership of digital assets, is one of the biggest trends in the industry. And all assets and transactions will be recorded by the community, so that no third party will own your assets or take cuts from them. From our conversations at the event, we were amazed by how similar Nicole was to Heidi, as a woman in tech, in games, and in blockchain, and how BOOSTO and Equiti.io have a natural fit in their partnership. Nicole is a gamer, an educator, a coder, and an entrepreneur. She runs a blockchain project called Equiti.io that is revolutionizing the way digital games are bought, sold, and resold worldwide. You can now use Equiti.io to sell games you’ve bought so that both you and the creator of the games get your fair share. All games become digital assets that will bring value to both you and the game creators.
BOOSTO and Equiti.io came together with the agreement that people should own their digital assets, and power should be put back in the creators’ hands. BOOSTO will integrate Equiti.io into marketplace system, where influencers have their own stores to display their digital assets, including the games they own, and other digital and non-digital goods. BOOSTO will support Equiti.io in its proof of ownership and payment system and provide influencer networks for product distribution. In return, Equiti will support BOOSTO tokens as a transaction token.
This partnership will allow both Equiti.io and BOOSTO to reach larger audiences and further the mass-adoption process by getting deep into the gaming industry and using influencers to educate people and promote the power of blockchain technology.
