In February, we introduced BORA LABS. BORA LABS, a laboratory in BORA Portal, is a place where we experiment with blockchain technologies for new blockchain games and users can experience the techs by themselves. At the same time, we also announced the TBA(Tokenbound Accounts) as the first feature of the BORA LABS. To explore more about the TBA, please visit the last medium article.
We are delighted to announce that new features have been launched in BORA LABS. This time we are bringing DAO(Decentralized Autonomous Organization)
About DAO
A DAO, or Decentralized Autonomous Organization, is a blockchain-based organization governed by code and smart contracts. It operates without centralized control and allows members to collectively make decisions through on-chain voting mechanisms.

DAO is the space where anyone can create a new agenda or vote for an existing agenda of a project. Voting is performed with a corresponding token and the result(Pro or Against) is determined by the token weight on each side. The smart contract run on the blockchain executes every process(agenda creation, voting, determining results, etc…) without intermediaries. This blockchain-based governance process is a unique feature of the DAO.
Then why should we use DAO? It helps the project to align incentives with the users. With the DAO, users can actively join the decision-making process. The project can also understand better what the users want. It can also engage users in the community by empowering them with ownership.
DAO in BORA LABS
In the BORA LABS, we utilized the DAO layer to show how decentralized decision-making process works in gaming. We prepared 3 individual scenarios(new character, new game item, team incentives) that are mainly decided by gaming projects themselves. Not only can users vote on the existing agenda, based on the scenarios, but also can they create their own agenda with one of the scenarios.
Here are the detailed steps for each flow described in the graph.
1. Sign in: Go to dao.boralabs.com and click the “Sign in” button to connect your wallet. Upon connecting the wallet, the tokens with the right to vote will be minted automatically. If not, click the box with VOTE/PLUS token amount to mint the tokens manually.
2. Create Agenda: Click the “Create Agenda” button below to create your own agenda for testing purposes.
3. Select Scenario: Choose one of three scenarios in the agenda and write a detailed description. Then finalize agenda creation by signing a blockchain transaction.
4. Let`s Vote: You can vote on the created agenda by selecting “Yes”, “No” or “Abstain” with the voting tokens.
5. Proposal Result: When the voting period ends, the created agenda is determined to have passed or failed.
Notes
- Regardless of your token balance, you can create one agenda per wallet per day.
- Up to 100 agendas can be created per day.
- Voting is possible without tokens, but your vote is invalid.
- By default, the created agenda contains the following information.
a. voting delay: 5 minutes.

b. voting period: 3 days.
c. quorum: passes with 10% of the vote in favor.
d. voting power: proportional to “VOTE” tokens held.
e. description: If you would like to write it down, it can be 100 characters or less in length.

이번 시간에는 BORA LABS의 새로운 서비스인 DAO(Decentralized Autonomous Organization)를 소개 드리겠습니다.
DAO란?
탈중앙 자율조직으로 불리는 DAO는 코드와 스마트 컨트랙트로 관리되는 블록체인 기반 조직입니다. DAO는 중앙화된 통제 없이 운영되며 참가자들이 온체인 토큰 투표 메커니즘을 통해 의사결정을 할 수 있도록 만듭니다.

DAO는 누구나 프로젝트에 대한 새로운 안건을 생성하고 기존 안건에 대해 투표할 수 있는 공간입니다. 투표는 대응되는 토큰을 통해 진행되며, 결과(찬성 또는 반대)는 각 사이드의 토큰 비중을 통해 결정됩니다. 블록체인 위에서 작동되는 스마트 컨트랙트가 모든 프로세스(안건 생성, 투표, 결과 결정 등)를 중개자 없이 처리합니다. 이러한 블록체인 기반 거버넌스 프로세스가 DAO의 주요 특징입니다.
그러면 왜 DAO를 사용해야 할까요? DAO는 프로젝트와 유저의 인센티브 일치에 도움을 줄 수 있습니다. DAO를 통해 유저들은 프로젝트의 의사결정 과정에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있게 됩니다. 또한 프로젝트는 유저들이 무엇을 원하는지 더 잘 이해할 수 있고, 동시에 유저들에게 소유권을 부여함으로써 그들의 커뮤니티 참여를 이끌 수도 있습니다.
BORA LABS의 DAO
BORA LABS에서는 탈중앙된 의사결정 과정이 게이밍 프로젝트에서 어떻게 작동할 수 있는지 보여드리기 위해 DAO를 활용했습니다. 동시에 신규 캐릭터, 신규 게임 아이템, 팀 인센티브 등 게이밍 프로젝트가 주로 의사결정을 진행하는 시나리오 3개를 준비했습니다. 유저들은 3개의 시나리오 중 하나를 기반으로 하는 안건에 투표할 수도 있고, 3개의 시나리오 중 하나를 골라 새로운 안건을 생성할 수도 있습니다.
아래에서 그래프에 있는 각각의 플로우를 자세히 설명드리겠습니다.
1. 로그인: dao.boralabs.com에 접속한 다음 “Sign in” 버튼을 클릭해 지갑을 연결합니다. 지갑이 연결되면 투표권과 대응되는 토큰들이 자동으로 발행됩니다. 발행되지 않는다면, VOTE/PLUS 토큰 수량이 표시되어 있는 박스를 클릭해 수동으로 토큰을 발행할 수 있습니다.
2. 안건 생성: 페이지 아래의 “Create Agenda” 버튼을 클릭해 테스트용 안건을 직접 생성합니다.
3. 시나리오 선택: 안건에 있는 3개의 시나리오 중 하나를 선택하고 자세한 설명을 작성합니다. 그 후 블록체인 거래를 서명해 안건 생성을 마무리합니다.
4. 투표: 투표권과 대응되는 토큰을 사용, “찬성(Yes)”, “반대(No)”, “기권(Abstain)” 중 하나를 골라 생성된 안건에 투표할 수 있습니다.
5. 제안 결과 발표: 투표 기간이 종료되면, 생성된 안건의 가결/부결 여부가 결정됩니다.
Notes
- 토큰 보유량과 상관없이 일일 안건 생성 한도는 지갑 1개당 1개로 제한됩니다.
- 하루에 최대 100개의 안건만 생성될 수 있습니다.
- 투표권과 대응되는 토큰 없이 투표는 가능하지만, 해당 투표는 유효하지 않은 투표로 처리됩니다.
- 생성된 안건은 아래의 내용을 기본으로 합니다.
a. 투표 딜레이: 5분.
⠀(투표 딜레이는 안건 생성 후 투표 시작까지의 대기 시간을 결정합니다.)
b. 투표 기간: 3일.
c. 정족수: 찬성표 10% 이상이면 통과.
d. 투표권: 보유한 “VOTE” 토큰에 비례.
e. 설명: 100자 이내로 설명 작성 가능.
