During the first meet up, we’ve introduced new Brand Identity of BORA and the meanings behind it. We are here to share BORA’s new brand identity with the community today.
The name BORA came from the most beautiful island of Tahiti, Bora Bora. So we named all of our services with the elements that compose the ocean and the island’s ecosystem. Although coral reef only makes up 0.1% of the world’s surface area, 25% of all worlds’ marine life dwells in this coral reef ecosystem. Based on this fact, we wanted to reflect how we don’t just want to grow bigger. We want our platform to be the coral reef, and our partner contents to grow the BORA ecosystem together.
Now let’s talk about the names of BORA services
First up, this is an ISLAND, the very base of the BORA platform, in fact, the base of the marine ecosystem. BORA ISLAND is a platform that the users visit to experience and play various digital contents among the BORA ecosystem. From the BORA ISLAND users can also access various services such as exchanging tokens, and managing BORA Wallet, tokens, and account. BORA ISLAND, being the center of the BORA ecosystem, has given its core identity with the BORA’s main logo.
Next is BORA ATOLL. It’s a ring-shaped coral reef including a coral rim. Just like the corals come together to make a beautiful atoll, the name reflects how BORA’s partners are gathered. This is a place for partners that provide contents. In ATOLL, we plan to offer necessary information and a tool for service operation, as well as different tools to analyze data and index. For BORA ATOLL, we made a different identity based on the actual ring-shaped atoll.
A lagoon is a lake separated from the ocean. Although it is separated from the ocean, it is so similar to the ocean because it has high salinity. We thought that it reflects our test environment as well as it is separated from the Island. So we named BORA’s testnet ‘LAGOON’.
LAGOON is a testing space for everyone who wants to provide contents on BORA platform. You can get platform news, development tools, guidelines, and test apps. You’ll even get BORA tokens for testing purposes to test the exchange with a currency that can be used within the platform called BORA SHELL.
BORA SHELL is a lower form of BORA token, a currency used within the platform. It’s like the shell in the ocean which was the very first currency of humanity. Depending on the units of the currency, the concept can be expanded to such coral and reef. BORA LAGOON’s logo resembles a lagoon.
Explorer means someone who travels to places in order to discover what is there. Here in BORA EXPLORER you can search and discover data stored within the BORA blockchain. It provides transaction history occurred in BORA LAGOON and once the BORA ISLAND launches, it’ll also provide BORA ISLAND’s transparent block data. Most block information is composed of data and numbers so it’s shown as graphs. In order to reflect that, EXPLORER has a logo that looks like a graph.
Since our name is BORA (it means purple in Korean), we made our pivotal ISLAND purple, while giving other names with matching colors to each brand. And with these four colors, our BORA service brand logo has been made.
The four core BORA services are BORA ISLAND, the platform that provides token wallet services for normal users; BORA LAGOON, a test environment that offers toolkit and development guidelines; ATOLL, that provides operation guidelines and console for business partners; and EXPLORER, where you can search BORA’s blockchain transactions.
