Dr Strange-ly Mathematical Visualizer

Who doesn’t love visual patterns? Especially if they make you feel like you’re Dr. Strange visiting Dormamu in the dark dimension.

Dormamu and Dr. Strange from the movie Dr. Strange

Barry Martin made a visualizer based on a formula, as a Chrome Experiment — where coders/developers experiment with unorthodox web apps.

For math geeks: Here’s the formula Barry used:

(x, y) -> (y — sign(x)*sqrt(abs(b*x — c)), a -x )

an app name you can say while eating

mmhmm; now that’s a name you can say while eating (go on, try saying it) — at least that’s what Phil (the creator of this app) says.

mmhmm logo

mmhmm (works on top of Zoom, Google Meet) comes with a non-boring take at video chats. Here’s what you can do with mmhmm:

  • Animated backgrounds
  • Resizable video avatar
  • Airplay your phone screen on a video call
  • Co-present the same slide with a partner

But our favourite feature is the see-through Jedi ghost effect.

Jedi ghost mode!
