It’s another Motion Mash Up edition where some motion pieces take it very literary.

Ease in & Out

Let’s start of with one that stays true to it’s theme. The animators of Le Cube blended different styles and techniques in the tv spot for the Brazilians advertisement school ESPM. The pace of every motion piece is brilliant. You can tell they are very experienced in stop motion. Where beginners lack the skill of easing and detailed animation they excel.

La Cinquecento

As you might know by now you easily win my heart with stop motion. Another weakness is my classic Fiat 500. With Tic Tac’s pay of ‘Go Little’ the link is easily made. Nice 3D work by Hue & Cry.

Frame by Frame

From 3D we move to the classic cel animation. ‘We Are Royale’ made a manifesto where they show their skills and their belief. An extra credit for ‘Echolab’ making the nice soundtrack.

Mash up Max

From one group of animators to another: Gentleman Scholar is a group of solution-driven artists situated at the intersection of story, style and technology. They’ve created a motion piece based on the killer track Alphabet Aerobics by Blackalicious. Another example of master level mash up motion.

The Fable of CGI & Stop motion

Lobo and BBDO New York teamed up for the campaign Autism Speaks. Creating awareness to help parents identify signs of autism in their children. This motion piece is based on 11 year old Jacob who suffers from autism. In this fable-like story we experience Jacob’s world. It’s another example of mixed production where stop motion meets CGI: the whole set is created in miniature where the main character was added in post. Also watch the concept art on their own site, which gives a nice insight to the production.
