Infomercials can be told in many different ways. Here’s a selection that varies from stop motion, to minimised shapes and rich cel animation.

Wells Fargo

American Bank Wells Fargo has some nice new features that are told in this graphical style infomercial. The motion pace is nice and quick, but The voiceover is kinda cramped in there. Next time let the motion do the talking. Directed by Brien Holman and produced by We Are Royale.

PROGRESS

Xerox wants to make life simpler by making information easy to share. With some nice examples which are stop motion animated they unfold a strong message. Concept by Y&R New York and produced by Psyop. Special credit to the stop motion artists Fabio Yamagi and Banzai Studios.

A TALE OF TWO ZIP CODES

What determines how long we live? The surprising thing is that your zip code has a massive influence. Streets from 1 mile apart can differ 15 years of life expectation. This impressive story by Blacklist is super smoothly animated with cel animation. Fun fact is that it took over 15 years to finish this spot. That’s real persistence.

YOUR DATA

More hard core dedication from the people at Identity Visuals. Normally when a client withdraws the assignment, the result never sees the light of day. Since they had so much fun creating the story, they decided to finish it anyhow. Extra credit for the way they visualised the abstract theme of data, by giving them character with their own motion language.

HOLBROOKS

The animators at Blacklist show their diversity with this next spot for GE. A six year old shows her admiration for her dads work. To emphasise the point of view the spot is animated in a child’s drawing style. Nice concept and execution!

OWN YOUR STYLE

Some people are known for their own specific style. Allen Laseter is one of them. With his unique imperfect style he gives a refreshing twist to the well known 2D infomercials.
