Let’s go back to graphic commercials. Enjoy this new set of diverse infomercials.

Dream, Dear & Deliver

Boston’s Children hospital asked Advertising Agency MullenLowe to promote their new mission statement. Staying close to your target audience is key in communication, so their choice of sharing this story with a pop up book makes perfect sense. Producing the book for real also ads a lot of value.

Unfortunately this added value also goes for the production budget. It seems that the money ran dry when they ended up at the audio part. The voice over script leaves big gaps which breaks the pace of the story. Also the music is not helping: although it matches the target audience, it also overtakes the voice over.

Good learning: the total impact is a sum of video, audio and timing.

Go Wherever It Takes You

Surfing on Tumblr blogs you never know where you’re going to end: hopping form astronomy to astrology you absorb different stories. Doug Richard and Jimmy Simpson translated this into a 15 second spot.

The Nelson Mandela Rules

A lot has changed since the 1950s, but strangely not the Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners. After 60 years the United Nations finally adopted the Nelson Mandela Rules. This short explains the changes of the conditions for prisoners.

The lovely style and story by Nice and Serious contains a set of marked stripes through out the whole story. It’s hard to figure out what the concept behind this is, but it does connects the story nicely. Design ed and animated by Guillaume Le Roux Animation and Luke Marsh.

Mindpilot

Not every spot ahs the luxury of taking 2 minutes to tell their story. If your product is about calmness and karma, and you only have 30 seconds, you have to choose your words wisely. An excellent job by Fred & Eric who delivered a spot which ticks all boxes. Extra credits for the refreshing illustrated style which reflects the charm of the narrative.

Red Giant: Volume

Red Giant plug ins are essential for every animator. The down side is the expense. Learning from Adobe’s Creative Cloud they enhanced their product where flexibility is key.

Identity Visuals created a spot that emphasises the interchangeability for big studios in the animation style. Directed and animated by Zac Dixon.

Pure Storage

Pure Storage is changing the way businesses think about data storage by getting rid of ‘spinny’ things. T Brand Studio delivered a fresh and fast paced spot which is pleasant to watch. A good example how video, audio and timing can ad up! Produced by Dress Code and animation leaded by Vincenzo Lodigiani.
