Fashion breathes creativity and this does reflect in their ads. I take off my hat for the next five hot couture campaigns.

Hate Couture

People love to share their opinion and more frequently it isn’t on the positive note. Diesel takes a stand against the polarising society and dresses celebrities with their worst online comments.

The Italian fashion-brand has a long heritage in expressing their strong (society driven) beliefs. Publicis Italy summarised it beautifully with “The more hate you wear, the less you care”.

Turning something negative into something positive has been perfectly translated into the fine camerawork by DoP Christophe Collette. Directed by Jovan Todorovi through Stink Films.

Female empowerment

We continue dancing with H&M’s spring collection.

The ad created by Adam & Eve/DDB is about breaking the barrier. Director Gustav Johansson took this literary with many shots outside the widescreen film bars. I would prefer it if he would be pickier and only use it only where it’s really beneficial. Compliments to the strong flowing choreography by Holly Blakey.

Finding your future self

The girl power continuous in the spring campaign of Macy’s with a little help of Blondie’s classic hit “One Way or Another”.

Spring is a time of growth and renewal, and Macy’s encourages every woman to reach for their dreams. The musical vibe won’t appeal to everyone, but I guess it’s a well considered choice based upon the taste of the target audience. Directed by Nicolai Fuglsig.

Escher Tribute

Gap’s Wearlight Denim is so comfortable and light, it defies the laws of gravity…

The concept by Yard NYC is as brilliant as hard to produce. Thanks to choreographer Yoanne Bourgeois and the custom-built set filled with trampolines the idea became reality. Directed by Kim Gehrig.

Last Week

My personal review on the event where the commercials are almost bigger than the actual football players: five Super Bowl ads backed up with some interesting statistics.
