Boson Community Update — Leptonite: Reference App launches

We’ve referenced our mission to Mars a few times now, and to get there we need an A-Team on board our ship. With that in mind we have recently had a number of new joiners in the team across marketing, delivery and tech with more still to come 🚀
Over the past two weeks we have released both our Grants Program and Ambassadors Program, and we have been delighted to receive so much interest already. Applications are still open so make sure to apply if you haven’t and share the word!

Boson Protocol: Testnet release and roadmap update
Testnet is here! Boson enabling digital-to-physical transactions.
Among the highlights this month is the release of our v0.1.0 of our protocol to the Ethereum Rinkeby test network. It is a peer-to-peer marketplace reference application called Leptonite that enables you to develop test dCommerce applications and services using this sandbox.
The launch of Leptonite is paired with an interactive “Game Mode’’ demonstration available on our project Developer Documentation hub. It illustrates the different steps and journeys available to users through the Boson Protocol.
The purpose of this demonstration is to provide a visualization of the incentive design in v0.1.0 of the Boson Protocol and the options open to both buyer and seller.
At the heart of Boson Protocol’s mission is the idea of becoming the world’s open public infrastructure layer for commercial transactions and their data. Boson Protocol is not intended to replace Web 2.0 legacy platforms with another platform monopoly. Instead, we aim to enable a vibrant ecosystem based around a minimally extractive coordinator of commerce, enabled by community developers creating their own applications and businesses using the protocol as a basis.

Boson Protocol at EthCC
With few in-person events going ahead again this year, and with the recent news that DevCon is postponed again, there is a palpable sense of excitement around EthCC (Ethereum Community Conference), which is happening in Paris next week.
We at Boson Protocol are proud to sponsor this eagerly awaited event because we recognize, and passionately believe in, the power of community to drive technological and economic change. The Boson Protocol team has a booth right by the main stage where they will be demonstrating p2p transactions with Boson merch.
At Boson, we are creating an entirely new decentralized commerce ecosystem that bridges the Metaverse and the real world. Our technology is designed to enable a whole new generation of developers to build an open tokenized economy on top of the Boson Protocol foundational layer.
We are delighted that Holly Atkinson, Boson’s Head of Metaverse Technology, will be running a workshop at EthCC in the Developer Tools Track. In the workshop, Holly will be walking through the Boson Protocol SDK and documentation to show how to leverage our unique digital-to-physical transactions capabilities.
