dCommerce Meetup #4 — Looking through the Portal

At Boson Protocol, we are creating an entirely new decentralized commerce ecosystem that bridges the metaverse with the real world, taking decentralized commerce (dCommerce) from a vision to a reality.

With that in mind, we’re building off the success that was last month’s meetup in Cryptovoxels, and are once again inviting you back to Dark Junction to attend our upcoming dCommerce Meetup, Looking through the Portal.

If you haven’t already experienced Dark Junction, it’s a unique complex of facilities in Cryptovoxels designed for social, virtual reality and experiential experiments.

We will have turned one of its spaces into our own Boson Temple featuring Boson Protocol branding and artwork from our partners. Boson team members will additionally be present there to answer any questions and for networking opportunities.

Boson Portal

We’re really looking forward to the next meetup because we have even more exciting plans and partnerships to talk about. Here’s what you can expect if you join us on August 26th:

Earlier this month we revealed our ambition for what we want to accomplish in Decentraland. We are building Portal, a virtual lifestyle, commerce and cultural playground which will seamlessly connect the metaverse with the universe. Portal will enable brands and partners to experiment with commerce opportunities, connected by Boson Protocol, and show how it is possible to create experiences that bridge the physical with virtual worlds.

As we explained in our recent post, Portal will allow visitors to buy or earn products both in the metaverse as well as physically. Rights to products will be tokenized as Boson Commitment NFTs, and the space is intended to become a destination in its own right for exclusive events, challenges and quests.

Boson’s Head of Metaverse Tech, Holly Atkinson, will host the night and introduce Portal. Then we will move into a deep dive into the Portal design and build process where we’ll provide you with a sneak preview of a gamified experience being developed which will give community members a chance to win rewards.

Auroboros Partnership

As we build out Portal, we will be announcing exciting partnerships with some of the world’s most cutting-edge virtual fashion and merchandise brands. Among them is digital couture pioneers Auroboros. We sponsored Auroboros back in June when they put on an epoch-making virtual catwalk that wowed London Fashion Week.

We’ll be writing and talking more about this partnership soon which is why, during our dCommerce Meetup, we will be presenting a fireside chat with our guests from Auroboros. They will be speaking about all things Metaverse fashion.

Decloaking Boson Strategy

We will round off the evening’s session with a keynote presentation by Boson Protocol Co-Founder, Justin Banon.

Justin will present how the Boson Protocol team has come together to solve one of Web3’s biggest problems.

Our team has designed our Protocol to represent the core infrastructure for an open tokenized economy, connecting smart contracts to real-world commerce.

He will highlight how the Boson team have simplified the protocol, made it more robust, enabling open commerce between the metaverse and the universe through trust-minimized exchanges of digital, physical or on-chain assets as tradable NFTs.

Justin will also explain how Portal fits into our Protocol Roadmap as our ‘beachhead’ strategy and how it serves as a real-use case for what is possible using Boson Protocol.

In addition to the talks, we’ll also be featuring a $BOSON rewards opportunity, artwork, the chance to collect POAPs and get a preview of our site in Decentraland. We are delighted to be joined by speakers from Polygonal Mind and Auroboros.
