Boson Protocol is opening the door for the community to join us in helping create the decentralized future of commerce.

Last month we published our governance strategy. Today we are pleased to announce the launch of Boson Protocol DAO, as the first step towards full decentralization. The signalling DAO will invite you to discuss and vote on specific topics concerning the development of Boson and its ecosystem.

Boson Protocol is building the network upon which the decentralized future of commerce will run. A properly decentralized protocol and ecosystem are fundamental for ensuring that Boson Protocol becomes commerce infrastructure that anyone can use, and everyone can trust.

The Signalling DAO

The signalling DAO is the first step towards being more inclusive and community governed. Decision-making in the form of a DAO will become progressively more decentralized in governing Boson Protocol. The signalling DAO is the genesis DAO of Boson Protocol that will support token holders in deciding how to build the future of commerce. The community will be able to vote on Snapshot for a range of topics, including (but not limited to):

Boson ambassadors
Ecosystem grants for open innovation
Metaverse Commerce roadmap

What are the first things you can take part in?

We will be rolling out the Boson Ambassador voting as the first function of the signalling DAO. If you are a BOSON holder, you will get to vote for the ambassadors that are going to help us spread the Boson Protocol’s idea and bring together a purpose-driven and committed global community.

We value your input and will open up the floor to our community through other exciting topics and the Wave 2 grant program.

We’ll be supporting the community to share your view on what Boson Portal should look like, including new Portal features or even some of the technical implementations. We are excited to hear your opinion on the new brands and spaces we should introduce in Portal, and on potential collaborations with artists and other metaverse creators. You will also help us determine an overall metaverse commerce roadmap. We will continuously evolve — expanding new matters that can be voted on and adding new features to the signalling DAO. We are aware we need your contribution for the protocol to be truly decentralized and for serving the community by which it will be governed.

What is the voting process?

Phase 1 — Discussion

Discord: Navigate to our Discord and join the #governance-dao channel. We welcome all conversation and questions related to governance and DAO. Signalling topics will be posted for discussion and informal polls will be utilized to gauge the community’s sentiment.

Governance Calls: We will organise regular governance calls among community members to share updates on the product and governance side. It will be a great place to get to know the community, share proposal feedback, and ask questions.

Our Notion page is the public source of truth for Boson Protocol DAO updates and activities. You will find more information about proposals, the latest program updates, and voting. For example, if you are interested in becoming a Boson Ambassador, you can start your application here. If you want to help steer the future of the Boson community, you can make an impact by reviewing Ambassador applications and voting.

Phase 2 — Voting

Voting will take place on Snapshot: dao.bosonprotocol.io/#/

Join our snapshot.
You will see the active proposals on the ballot.
Connect your wallet. You must have the BOSON already in the wallet you plan on voting with. Voting from exchanges is not supported.
Select the proposal you wish to vote for.
Click “Vote” and sign with your wallet.
Vote with your BOSON tokens. 1 BOSON = 1 vote.
Vote percentages will adjust accordingly as votes are counted.

Join our Meetup

Boson Protocol’s dCommerce Meetup #8 will take place on January 31, and the focus will very much be on the DAO launch.
