Artem Goldman founded Legal Space in 2015, an online service that helps businessmen and entrepreneurs to find trusted lawyers and specialized legal consultants anywhere in the world. Last November he launched Visabot, a Facebook Messenger chatbot that makes applying for a US visa easier than ever.

I wanted to know more about Artem’s future plans and contacted him through Messenger for a quick interview.

You have probably built one of the most useful chatbot experiences so far. How do you feel about that?

Feeling good =)

When was the first time you thought about creating a chatbot to help immigrants get US visas? Why a chatbot?

I worked in immigration before, doing a web platform. Decide to move to the bot, because it has more sense, people want to have answers to their questions immediately. They don’t want to wait for lawyers or searching for answers on the web for a long time.

Why did you choose FB Messenger over another platform?

Bigger audience.

Are you looking to launch Visabot on other messaging apps?

Yes, we will launch it in almost all top platforms very soon.

Visabot has generated +$5,000 in revenue (November). Could you tell us more about your monetization strategy?

That was paid for additional consultations with lawyers. But we are going to charge for service soon.

So far, what is the biggest challenge you have encountered with Visabot?

Our main challenge is

Trump dancing

Are you looking to launch any additional bots in 2017?

Sometimes I’m coding something (like SignBot). Probably will make some, but as a weekend project.

I loved SignBot, a Messenger chatbot you just released that helps you create a nice looking email signature. You introduced it as a weekend project, but I find it really useful. Do you have future plans for SignBot or was it just for fun?

I’m happy to talk with someone who has ideas about SignBot, but I’m full time on Visabot right now.

What are the next steps for Visabot?

New type of visas, green cards, a lot of work.

What do you think Bot developers and bot entrepreneurs should do in 2017 to take this nascent industry to the next level?

I believe developers should think about value of the product. It does not necessarily need to be a bot. I think education sector is huge for bots.

Thanks to Artem for taking the time to answer my questions.
