It’s Christmas. We Musn’t Be Amiss
We went to the store to buy a smile
Christmas is around the corner;
With smiles all along everybody jolly
We shouldn’t be amiss
Musa carried our bottles of borrowed happiness
A smile costs ten bottles,
We only have five
We will share a smile we agreed tiredly: our faces are not that wide I say.
But the storekeeper said she was out of smiles
“The whole bloody country came through here!” She ranted
Oh my! What are we to do?
Without smiles we can’t have Christmas! We’d be amiss.
So I picked up a stone and drew smiles on our faces.
Christmas is near; we mustn’t be amiss.
