Bounce Infinity E1 — Electric Scooters in India

We are back with the second blog in this series where we are trying to answer some important questions about e-scooters. At Bounce, our mission is to ease and encourage mass EV adoption in India and we hope with this blog, we will be able to address some of the top consumer concerns and nudge them towards going electric.

Q.1. Are e-scooters safe to ride?

E-scooters are safe to ride depending on how they were designed and built. Most of them have certain key safety features and because they are lightweight and compact, they are less prone to road accidents.

At Bounce, customer safety is our utmost priority. The Bounce Infinity E1 has an ergonomic design with aesthetic, lightweight, and rust-proof alloy wheels offering superior performance, comfort, and safety for our riders. Moreover, Bounce is complemented by the power of intelligence through our app that enhances overall safety. With the help of our app, not only you but your scooter will also be safe. The E1 can sense vibrations when it’s parked and in case of any unusual motion or activity, it locks its rear wheels automatically. The E1 also comes with Combi-Brake System (CBS) both at the front and the rear to ensure user safety.

Q.2. How smart are e-scooters?

Most e-scooters have high-tech integration and therefore are smart by design. At Bounce, we offer a killer combination of the E1 and the Bounce app which are loaded with a host of intelligent features. The E1 is equipped with a digital speedometer which gives the rider real-time information on ignition status, side stand status, indicators, battery soc status, speed display, odometer reading, vehicle status, BlueTooth status, and high beam status. You can also access cruise control, drag mode, and reverse mode with a simple flip of a switch present on the handlebar. Additionally, customers can access smart features like battery health, anti-theft alert, and geofencing on our app. You can also use the app to locate your nearest battery swapping stations and swap batteries ‘on the go’. Bounce Infinity E1 also comes with an Electronic Braking System (EBS). This is a leap forward from the traditional braking mechanism. The system ensures superior performance and generates energy to recharge your battery each time you hit the brake.

Q.3. Do I need a license to ride e-scooters?

You don’t require a driver’s license for riding e-scooters having a 250 W motor power with a top speed of 25 kmph. However, the Bounce Infinity E1 is a much more powerful scooter with a 1500 W motor power and a 65 kmph top speed. So you do require a valid driving license for riding the E1.

Q.4. Can e-scooters be customized to match my personality?

Any vehicle is an extension of the owner’s personality. Customizing a scooter is an awesome way to create a unique ride that is designed specifically for you and is also a great medium to express yourself. At Bounce, you can customize your Infinity E1 and make it your own. E1 is available in five funky colors — Sparkle Black, Comed Grey, Sporty Red, Desat Silver, and Pearl White, you can pick your base color and layer it with stickers, designs, and motifs with the help of our handpicked artists.

Q.5. Can I buy e-scooters online?

Yes, you can buy e-scooters online. Beginning March 2022, Bounce is ready to start delivering the Infinity E1 to customers through both its online platform and its dealership network. You can pre-book your own Infinity E1 by logging on to our website and reserving your e-scooter for a minimal amount of INR 499.
