BMX Day Legazpi 2023: A Thrilling Showcase of BMX Excellence
Legazpi City, Albay (December 6, 2023) — BNCEBACK, in collaboration with VANS Philippines and co-presented by Grub Scoop Cafe — Dita Branch, successfully hosted the BMX Day Legazpi 2023 last July 23, 2023. The electrifying event took place at Sawangan Skate Park, Legazpi Port District, Legazpi City, with Puro Elementary School serving as its backup venue.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the one-day celebration witnessed the participation of 16 registered BMX riders who astounded the crowd of 50–80 spectators with their awe-inspiring skills and talents.
BMX Day Legazpi 2023 aimed to foster camaraderie among local BMX athletes and extreme sports enthusiasts in Legazpi City, Bicol, and the entire Philippines. This annual event provided a platform for local and visiting BMX athletes to interact, showcasing their tricks, style, and passion for extreme sports.
Furthermore, the event sought to contribute to a deeper conversation on the societal importance of BMX, emphasizing its role in local culture and identity. It also advocated the idea that engaging in sports, including BMX, positively impacts physical and mental well-being.
The day’s activities included the Street Jam, BMX Best Run (Class A & B), and BMX Showdown featuring competitions such as Highest Bunny Hop, Best Trick, Best in Rail, and Game of Bike.
The winners of the Best Run in Class A were Kyle Garcia (Champion), Alex Felesarta (1st Runner-up), and Lucas Ricamara (2nd Runner-up). In Class B, the winners were Rhonnel Bonavente (Champion), Jared Ariola (1st Runner-up), and Grabrielle Gabriel (2nd Runner-up).
The BMX Showdown winners included Jared Ariola (Highest Bunny Hop), Christian Dado (Best Trick), Kyle Garcia (Best in Rail), and Lucas Ricamara (Game of Bike).
BMX Day Legazpi 2023 would not have been possible without the generous support of major sponsors, including Scrapbikes, Eat n’ Run, City Mayor’s Office, Legazpi City Tourism, MadCow Productions, and Brent Bikes.
