PRACTICE CONSISTENTLY

Sometimes when we don’t feel confident about our abilities, we’ll dwell in fear and not even try.

Yet the only way to gain confidence about anything is to begin doing it and then practice consistently. The more you do it, the easier it becomes for you, and the better you grow in your craft.

When you are better at your skills, you become more confident.

JOIN A GROUP WITH THE SAME PASSION

It’s nice to have a group that understands the struggles you feel while trying to master your craft.

A community with the same passion can push you and help you keep going when you feel discouraged.

Aside from that, you can ask them for tips or questions if you are confused about something.

You’ll be amazed by the number of people willing to help you out while you are still beginning.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO SHARE YOUR WORK

When you are trying to be better, or just starting out, it’s a leap for you to share your first work.

Sharing it to the world, whether via social media or just showing it to your close friends or family, can help you be more open to feedback.

Being vulnerable and showing your heart’s work will allow you to develop your confidence.

Remember that you are doing it not to get praises but to share what you love. Who knows, maybe you’ll inspire other people to share their passion to the world too.

ASK FOR FEEDBACK AND ACCEPT CRITICISM

In order for you to grow, you need to partly detach your emotions from your craft.

Your skills only represent a part of yourself, not who you are as a whole.

If you receive criticism about it from someone more knowledgeable and more experienced, don’t take it as a personal attack.

An imperfect, inadequate work does not reflect the entirety of you as a person.

Write the things that were pointed out and find ways to improve it. See it as an opportunity to grow.

GIVE BACK AND TEACH OTHERS

Teach while you learn, not when you think you are perfect.

Teach while you are on your journey to becoming better. It will help you improve at what you do.

When you teach, you do your best to make your process of doing things understandable and more polished.

Teaching is a good way to master something while giving back to other people.
