Here’s How Listening To Film Scores Has Been Highly Therapeutic For Me
How Listening To Such Music Has Truly Profound Effects On Our Minds
I personally enjoy listening to film scores. Like, a lot!
Listening to this type of music really has profound effects on my emotions.
Film scores refers to the background music in films. These pieces of music are written specifically to accompany those films.
Timeless Classics
As we all are aware, there have been many amazing, epic film scores throughout the years.
Some of my favourites include Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Apollo 13, Mission Impossible, Harry Potter and also several superhero movies.
To be sure, there are so many other films whose scores I greatly admire and enjoy listening to, but those listed above are just off the top of my head.
Some of my favourite film score composers, as I’m sure rings true for many of us, include John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, Henry Jackman, etc.
A Powerful Effect On My Emotions
Whenever I listen to these scores, regardless of their tempo, or their nature (uplifting, energetic, melancholic, etc), they all have the profound effects of:
- uplifting my mood
- helping me relax
- calming down my turbulent thoughts and feelings.
If I’m feeling stressed and or restless, listening to this type of music is always able to quell such feelings and instead induce more positivity within me.
A Nice, Warm Trip Down Memory Lane
Apart from that, listening to these scores tends to bring me back to some of the scenes of those particular films that I enjoy.
In that sense, it’s a nice, heartwarming sense of nostalgia that I experience whenever I listen to this type of music.
Grateful For Such Beautiful Forms Of Music
In that way, I’m really grateful for the existence of film scores.
Aside from the fact that they contribute so much in general to movies, they also have strong therapeutic effects and can help us relax as well as cope with our strong emotions.
What about you? Do you also enjoy listening to film scores every now and then? What are your favourite films scores to listen to?
