My Friend Posts Inspirational Quotes on Social Media
My take on it
My friend Janet is one of those people who likes to post inspirational quotes on social media. You know the type.
‘When you have a good heart, you don’t lose friends, they lose you.’
‘If you’re not happy about your friend’s success, you’re not a good friend.’
‘Your me-time is your reset button,’
And so on…
She identifies as a feminist, and a lot of the quotes she posts are about women sticking together, women lifting each other up, how important female friendships are… and you know what?
She practices what she preaches.
Social Media vs Real-Life
So many people post these quotes on Instagram and Facebook and Twitter and whatnot and their actions don’t really match what they post.
I’ve known a few in my life; you log onto Instagram, and they’ve posted yet another story with some made-up from a quotes-based page, and you can’t help but laugh at the disconnect because you know them in real life. It’s always disappointing when you come across that level of hypocrisy.
