The Message, Not the Messenger

I’ve written before about how this series has introduced me to some interesting people and helped me to learn about some very influential people who I never would have otherwise known existed.

Today’s article is a little bit different, today’s quote comes from someone I know exists, but for whose beliefs I have such an intense dislike that I wasn’t sure about whether to write this article or not.

You see, today’s quote resonates with me on a deeply personal level, but not the person who said it. I have objections to their deep mis-characterization of the Christian faith, their anti-abortion viewpoints (ironically driven by their mother’s choice to carry them to term), their shameless proselytizing, their views on sex and the social construct of virginity, and their white saviour complex that is poorly hidden in “evangelism”.
