In Green Bay, Wisconsin, Billionaire Elon Musk gave two voters million-dollar checks each to vote the way he wanted them to in the state’s Supreme Court Election.
I once got into trouble in a local election because I was handing out hot dogs to voters’ kids in the park across the street from the polling station.
This reminds me of a story, and like most good stories, it takes place in a bar because no good story ever starts out with the words, “So I had just ordered a chicken Caesar salad with a side of tofu when this beautiful girl walked in.”
Instead, it goes something like this.
A guy was sitting in a notorious pick-up bar one night, just finishing a martini, when a terrific-looking blonde sat down next to him. He asked the bartender for another and offered one to the young lady next to him.
“Oh, thank you very much,” she said. And, to the bartender, “I’ll have two olives, please.”
The guy looked her over once or twice and decided to make a bold move. “Let’s cut to the chase,” he said to the girl. “Would you sleep with me for a million dollars?”
