  1. Plan well before you start writing

Do not start writing before having a good plan. We all would have done this mistake. If you start writing without a proper plan or idea about your story, of course, you’ll have a great kickstart, but at some point, you might feel a lag or dissatisfaction about your story which might make you stop writing. So I would suggest you have a plan about your story, your characters, and the world in which your characters live and give more details to it

2. Start your story with a simple rough draft

If you are planning to write a book, don’t start writing your chapter one or prologue. Before taking the step of writing the actual book, always write a short rough draft of your story. If you are planning a book of more than 30k words, first write a short form of the same story with about 3k to 5k words and then develop your book with that rough draft.

3. Always get inspired by the world around you

Observation is one of the vital qualities of a writer. Even if you are writing a fantasy or sci-fi novel which can have unbelievable situations and plots, your story should have some realism in it. You can go to various places, like an office, market, an expo, walk down the streets, learn to observe places and various people in those places, and try to inherit such details into your story which could give life to your story.

4. Do not plan your climax while writing the first chapter

If you are planning a crime thriller or horror thriller or rom-com, please do not plan your ending. Just start writing your story and you’ll get some mind-blowing ideas, as your story makes progress. Which might cause a great impact on your story.

5. Avoid simple grammar mistakes

If you are writing a story, please avoid simple grammar mistakes. I use Grammarly to avoid such mistakes. If you are very good at English, it’s fine. But if you are a beginner, please have someone proofread your content or you can let the AI do that work for you. I suggest you use Grammarly to make your content devoid of simple grammar mistakes.
