Australia can’t design its way out of a Monarchy

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II means Australia is getting a new coin relief design. Now we get to look at good ol’ King Charles III’s mug for the next 20ish years.

Of course, every media outlet will be inundated with opinions of why we should stop being a Monarchy, we’re so far away from England, and we basically look after ourselves, so why not become a Republic?

The last time we talked about becoming a Republic, the Queen basically said ‘cool, enjoy yourselves’, but then just like hoping your kids are moving out, we changed our minds, realised we couldn’t cook, and staying at home was pretty good really. As long as we didn’t have to talk to any other family members except when we wanted to claim our little sister's cool toys.

If we do end up saying bye-bye to our motherland some important decisions need to be made.
