This is not an attempt to defame the religion, but an attempt to understand the religion better.

I had previously asked a few questions on Hinduism in this article if you’re interested.

Before I get to the question, let me tell you a couple of stories in Hindu literature. These stories might not be accurate, as I heard them from others. Please correct me if I got anything wrong.

Lord Rama (an avatar of Lord Vishnu, a God) killed the evil monster, Ravana in an epic battle. Ravana was evil personified but was so powerful no one could defeat him. So the God Vishnu came into the world as an avatar, Lord Rama, to destroy him. And destroy him, the God did.

According to this article, Ravana attained Moksha (the ultimate reward any being could hope for), because he got “the rarest opportunity to face the Lord directly and get killed by the Lord Himself.”

Lord Krishna (another avatar of Lord Vishnu) killed many demons. And according to this article:

“All the demons that Krishna slew were destined to die by his hands and attain Moksha.”

So here’s the question:

Being good, IMO is definitely harder than being bad. And being the baddest of them all might be an easy shortcut to the ultimate prize — Moksha.

I’m sure bad wouldn’t be what the Gods want us to be. But then why would the Gods reward evil?
