About Me — Patrice Walker
Didn’t know this was a “thing” on Medium until I surpassed the 100-follower mark. Guess it’s my turn now.
So, where to begin? Well, I’ve already written a little bit about myself in several of my stories (Articles? Blogs? What do y’all call them?). So you can get some details from them.
Here’s one about my employment history, a resume of sorts.
But briefly, I was born, raised, and educated in our nation’s capital, majored in linguistics in college (French minor), and worked in the Federal government as an employee and independent contractor before (semi-) retiring in 2006.
As a kid in primary and secondary school, I loved language arts and hated math and science, despite my father being a mathematician. Yes, he was there to help me, but those word problems, among many other things, drove me crazy.
And I had absolutely no idea what I was doing in trigonometry, the last math class I ever took, even though I passed it … barely.
