I have not always been good with money. I like nice things! However, over the years, I’ve learned that taking care of my money means having more of the things I like and being fiscally responsible.
Years ago, I started a budget and even made an Excel spreadsheet to track my spending and savings. As a result, I have money to pay my bills on time, buy a few luxuries, and have savings.
Consider this: your habits have a significant impact on your life. Your waistline is the outcome of your eating and exercising habits. If you have a tendency to pick up after yourself, your home is probably clean and uncluttered.
Similarly, you may face financial difficulties if your money practices are not conducive to wealth accumulation.
Here are Some Habits of a Self-Made Affluent Person:
1. Concentrate on Assets. Your accountant may consider your car to be an asset, but a wealthy person would not. To a wealthy person, an asset is something that generates money or adds value. Your vehicle does not meet these requirements.
Maximize your investment in real assets. These include equities, bonds, corporations, precious metals, and other assets. Invest in assets rather than in things you don’t need.
