Are we called by loved ones when death is near?

Granny P appeared in a dream. In the ‘real’ world on Sundays, my parents took me by bus to visit my paternal grandmother, Granny P. They let me ride the top deck to see the countryside pass by because we lived in a town.

The memories I have of my father’s mother Granny P include the following.

She sat in black taffeta like Queen Victoria.

Granny P always sat in her rocking Chair.

She made the best Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever tasted. She cut bread by tucking it under her arm and slicing with a sharp knife.

These memories and many more return to me. I can smell the Yorkshire pudding. I can see the government’s thanks for the son she lost in war

But I heard ‘time’s winged chariot’ when she came to me in a dream.

She didn’t say, “Your passing will be soon.” It was like a handshake passed between two people each in a boat on the sea.

Time will tell.

Have I been on this earthly plane long enough to well enough, deeply enough, realize the ultimate truth of ‘I = Awareness’

Time or the no-time will tell.

I’m grateful that Granny P came pointing the way and giving comfort like her Yorkshire pudding did so that I can be free of anxiety.

I wait to see. I enjoy every moment of earthly life. The rain. The sun. The entertainment is given by babies who cartilaginously bite their feet — and their ringmasters — their parents.
