Are You Preparing To Be Self-Sustaining In A Crisis?
Right now, there are sufficient reasons to think ahead
We have already lived through a life-changing pandemic. Five years later, many are still feeling the ramifications of that common experience.
And unfortunately, there are other crises on the horizon. You name it. There’s climate change, political unrest, disease resurgence, and more. It is a tenuous time in the history of the United States and the world — as geopolitical relationships change.
I have never been a doomsayer, but I am a realist and a pragmatist. Therefore, when I look objectively at what is going on, I think it best we prepare ourselves for the crises that might lie ahead.
How do you prepare for the unknown?
It seems overwhelming, does it not? I think so. Even so, a small amount of preparation might take you far in the untoward event of a major breakdown of our systems and way of life.
My husband and I had this conversation last week. We thought it best to prepare for something “bad” — just in case.
So we made some lists of things we should purchase and tuck away. Of course, that means we have somewhere to put these “extra” items. We don’t, and I suspect that’s true for most.
