I am an optimist.
I believe the world is good and that people are inherently good.
But people can be good and stupid at the same time.
There was a discussion recently on Reddit about the Thumbs Up emoji.
Yes, this one: 👍
A younger person was offended that older people in their workplace used the emoji as they felt it was passive-aggressive.
Yes, this one: 👍
Someone was offended by an emoji. Not just any emoji, this one: 👍
Now luckily, the majority of people felt the emoji was just fine.
How are we now offended by someone using an emoji? We used to be offended when someone cut in line, took our parking space, robbed our house, broke into our car, stole our phone or called us a vile word.
But now…
This is being discussed in the media as a generational issue. It isn’t. This is where we have clearly lost…
