Trump’s war on history
If you haven’t read the news lately, I don’t blame you. It’s an absolute shitshow out there — thanks to you-know-who. And sadly, it’s getting worse every day as Donald Trump continues his quest to erase and rewrite American history with yet another executive order, this time to the Smithsonian Institution, directing it to eliminate “divisive narratives.”
This is not just another political sideshow— it’s the playbook of authoritarianism. When leaders decide that truth is too dangerous, history becomes their first target. I’m reminded of the early days of Nazi Germany, when books were burned in public squares and entire chapters of history were rewritten to fit a fascist agenda.
The only thing is that we are not in Germany. This is America, and what’s happening right now is disturbingly similar to what happens when an authoritarian regime decides that facts are inconvenient obstacles to political power. Yes, and I, for one, am scared, and you should be too, as this is yet another RED FLAG that the president aims to whitewash the stories the nation tells about itself.
Let’s call it what it is: a state-sponsored revisionist campaign, driven by greed, power, and the desperate need to sanitize the past to control the present narrative. And…
