Qatar made a very strong anti-gay anything stance prior to the World Cup opening day. Was it for attention? Possibly, who didn’t know that Qatar is a strict Muslim country? Perhaps the person living under a rock, even a villager in Ghana watching the World Cup games, knows Qatar is a Middle East, Muslim-ruled country. What was the purpose of bringing this up a month or more before the games, then taking to social media to constantly call out ‘western behaviors’?

Several countries competing in the World Cup have some form of law against homosexuality & gay sexual intercourse. Even some states in the US outlaw some sexual acts that many gay men might partake in (will get into that at another time).

When Russia was home to the World Cup did they make such a huge deal about homosexuality? Countries like Chile have only recently passed laws in 2021 to include rights for the LGTBQ. This is pretty much the same for many countries as well.
