Follow Me Home
Iโll give you a poem
it feels a little awkward
asking for support online
itโs like convincing a stranger
to recklessly drive me home
then read my scarlet diary
of odd personality traits
clap fifty times if it resonates
sign email subscription
obtain poetry admissions
catch tumbled errors
and confused hyphens
before I spell โ correction
would it be better to only show
never tell?
inspiration knocks in woven words
tickling unpolished hinges
emotive screens then open
a door welcoming creativity
insightful entrance of humbled luxury
unbolts treasured secrets for peeking souls
endlessly available to those
who donโt know?
perhaps external links
are deemed pretentious sights
but if we donโt guide
or leave tangled letters in disguise
would originality fade?
like ancient blemished paint
covering growth stains
atop treacherous wallpaper
on this leaking bookshelf
that once drizzled our name
in stories
and if we donโt share
roaring views of individuality
or vibrate minds with new energy
will humanity have options to surge?
like this squeaky couch
overused by ghostly bodies
chattering bitter atrocities
until someone banged and rattled
fixing damage to create a novelty
welcome to my home
I hope you stay awhile
