You get your hidden skill noticed by doing what you are bad at.

Sometimes, you might be confused about what your hidden talent is or if you even have one. The only way to figure it out is to do something. Get yourself busy with anything.

When you are unsure about having the skill to niche down, then do it all. Write everything about Everything and in time, you will figure it out.

Just don’t sit around and do nothing. Don’t wait around for the perfect job or perfect opportunity. Take that crappy job and do it well. It doesn’t matter if you are bad at it. Do it with all your heart, as if your life depends on it. Like your big break might come from it because it might.

I read somewhere that 70% of good jobs are not advertised. The positions are filled with referrals.

A good number of people have gotten job offers that are nowhere related to their current jobs from strangers who observed how they work.

When they ask ‘why me? The answer they normally get is “I love how you put your heart and energy into your job, it doesn’t matter how much you are being paid”. You put your best into it and that was what caught my eye.

No matter where you find yourself in life, always give your best. Do your best even when you think nobody is watching. The truth is, eyes are always watching, might not be the ones you expect but there are always a set of eyes on you. And I’m not talking about God.

Doing what you hate or what you are bad at gracefully will open doors of opportunities for you. While you are doing that job you are bad at, your natural skills or talents unknowingly begins to show and develop.

I recently watched a movie where a guy got a job and he was horrible at the job. Most people are terrible at that role, so they end up quitting after a few weeks, but, this guy stuck with the job. He made a series of mistakes every day that cost him some of his pay, he got yelled at many times but he stuck with it.

His senior colleagues placed a bet on him not lasting 2 months but he exceeded it and was still bad at his job. But they couldn’t fire him because nobody stays and he was the only one that has lasted that long.

One day, his manager’s driver called in sick and they needed an expert driver to fill in for the day. The guy volunteered to drive his manager. His manager slept till they got to their destination. When he woke up, he complimented the guy for his excellent driving skills.

The manager’s driver didn’t show up the next day either, so the manager offered the job to the guy. And the pay was 2x more than he earns.

He had worked as a paramedic driver for years but was unfortunate to lose his job. so, he took any job he could find when he couldn’t get a driving job.

If he had quit prematurely, he won’t have landed his dream job

The only way to sell your skill is to put yourself out there. Take that shit job, it might lead you to your next big break.

I wish you good luck as you choose to put yourself out there.
