I Kicked My Son, Yet He Loved Me Back More
A rollercoaster day of emotions as a stay-at-home dad
My day started off like most of my days have in the past few months.
I woke up at 6:15 am when my 1-year-old daughter, Kali, decided to climb across me to get off the bed. Her day had begun, and so had mine.
By the time she had successfully taken her morning dump in the pot, and not her diaper (an achievement for both of us), my wife was also up and running.
When we went out to the living room, she was finished packing our son’s lunchbox for school.
It was now close to 7 am and time for us to wake our five-year-old son, Naman, and get him ready for school.
Then came one of my favorite parts of our mornings. The time to get both the kids into a shower – together.
The joy of watching your little kids splash around water and dance around a small inflatable bathtub is priceless.
Shortly after, we were all in our car ready to take the short drive to Naman’s school. I parked outside the very busy school gate, and my wife went in holding Kali in one arm, and holding Naman’s hand with the other.
The school drop-off was smooth and happy.
