If You’re Sitting There ‘Delaying Tasks’ Read This
It’s all about mental habits
Procrastination is a rising issue in these days.
We have all the access to distract ourselves — social media, food, and shelter.
However, there are some people — who are still able to manage the distractions and get the job done. They’re not superhumans, they face the same shit every day.
However, they have an unfair advantage– they’ve found the tools to push themselves when they feel like giving up.
Think rational
I remember when I started thinking straight, I was struggling to get up at 4:00 am. The first time the alarm rang, I put aside my feelings and started questioning — Will this action help me in the future? Why am I being a chump? Why am I feeling like giving up?
It wasn’t easy, but It worked, I started pushing myself to the end goal. Whenever I didn’t feel like getting up, I paused, processed, think strategically about future consequences, and the next moment I was up making my bed.
If you have a dream, you have to develop the habit of thinking straight. Because most of the time you won’t be motivated to do the job, life will test you at every step, and you can’t ignore these facts. Moreover, when you get used to thinking straight — you get the wings to fly because you’ve your whys at your fingertips.
And still, you’re gonna feel like something is missing– the flow state( the feeling) Because you’re still processing, you’re still thinking about– Can I?
Yes, you can
Take Immediate action
There is no need to control and force things to happen, you are right where you are supposed to be, start flowing, stop forcing — Kylie Francis
When I was struggling with getting up early, I was aiming for the motivation and the flow state, and this mindset kept me in bed for years.
Then, I made a mindset shift. I started taking action, the moment I thought rationally, I took the first step, put aside my emotions, made my bed, and within some minutes I got into working mode.
Moreover, It helps me to stay on track — whenever I engage in negative self-talk, my mind gives a signal to do what you’re supposed to do. And I end up doing what matters the most.
