Instagram Influencer Found Dead In An Air BnB — Who Killed Starlet Wahu?
On January 3rd, 2024, 24-year-old Instagram influencer Starlet Wahu was found dead in a pool of blood just a few hours after checking into an Airbnb with an alleged boyfriend.
According to the police, the young woman allegedly met the suspect, John Matara, online through one of her DMs, and after talking for nearly two years, they decided to meet for the first time, but John had other ulterior motives.
After forcing Starlet to take an HIV test, which he had brought with him, and having sex with her, he tried to rob her of her money and belongings — as he had previously done with most of his victims — but Starlet fought back, and a fight ensued. It was in the midst of this fight that John grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Starlet multiple times, leaving her for dead on the floor while he rushed to the hospital to get his wounds treated.
The following day, he was arrested at this hospital and relayed what happened. Fortunately, upon hearing that the suspect had been caught, more victims came out, and it was clear that he never dated any of them out of love but to rob and kill them.
