I recently read a current article that described the boring 1990s by listing “Monica Lewinsky and blowjobs,” among other events. It didn’t mention Bill Clinton and his abuse of power.

Decades later, the slut shaming continues.

That instance re-ignited my fury over Bill Clinton’s primetime speaker slot at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

We should despise Trump’s sexually abusive behavior toward women, which I do, but forget Bill Clinton’s gross abuse of power?

I sympathize with Monica Lewinsky because I’ve been on the victim side of a power differential myself.

As a first-year student, I sought help at the university counseling center due to mild suicidal thoughts. Those thoughts were triggered by feeling inadequate after my much older professor boyfriend split up with me.

The staff assigned me to a male Ph.D. psychologist. Being a trusting soul, I didn’t hesitate to share openly with him in our weekly sessions.
