Look, It’s Been a Minute
My opinion on what’s brewing after the election…
We had a bunch of family and financial, and craptastic things happen all at the beginning of fall. Cap that off with the election situation and here I am crawling back into a space that I used to love writing for. Today, I come here with trepidation.
I will not get into anything personal on this article — so far as updates are concerned. I want that article to be a bit more positive. So, I’m keeping it separate. What’s been brewing in my heart has been anything but positive.
I encouraged voting. I made sure people had voting plans. I and my husband talked to people about this election for years before it happened. We voted early, and it took us a full hour to get to the polls to do so. The line was so long and mostly women. I was excited for Kamala Harris to be our next president.
But here we are.
I just read, sip my coffee, shake my head, and make notes. I’m listening to black women’s justified anger and disappointment. I’m seeing white women’s indignation or shame.
