My morning routine has been virtually nonexistent for a long time. I start making new habits, but eventually, I fall off.

I think this is because I try to change too many things at once.

Several years ago I read the book The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod (Amazon affiliate link).

He recommends doing five or six things every morning to set your day up for success such as journaling, exercising, and meditating.

I do believe there is merit to doing the things that he mentions.

And I’ve been working up to a full morning routine for quite some time.

I started walking regularly about 6–9 months ago. Though I’m not consistent as much now, I’m much better at accomplishing this most days.

Then, I started being mindful of taking my vitamins every day and focusing on fasting a bit in the morning.

I do meditate and journal, but not on a consistent schedule.

At a recent Toastmasters meeting, one of my peers gave a speech about the benefits of meditation and talked about the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza.
