Musk’s Heil Hitler Exposed Selective Outrage
True social justice demands we reject all hate
While apologists online and on Fox News oddly debate whether Elon’s double fascist salute was some autistic jerk or a socially awkward moment, another interesting phenomenon has been growing for years now:
Selective outrage at injustice
Case in point.
Voices who advocated for Israel’s demise and refused to speak out against the massive antisemitism Jews have had to endure in the U.S. and elsewhere since October 7 are now suddenly outraged that Elon is now aiding antisemites and racists.
So we’re extra clear, Elon’s arm gesture was unequivocally a fascist salute.
Elon himself couldn’t muster any clear explanation for the salute that mimicked Hitler’s. The weird excuses people came up with range from it was an uncontrollable tick to Obama and Harris did it too (watch their videos — that’s silly).
No denial from Musk. No mature discussion. Elon just hurled insults at anyone who criticized the bizarre nod to the portion of Trump’s alt-right followers who went into an excited tizzy after gleefully watching it go down.
