An Israeli friend and I have continued a dialogue that began on October 7, hours after the barbaric Hamas attacks into Israel. He was horrified by the assault and urged the world to stand with Israel.
Months earlier he had regaled me with stories of the valor of hundreds of thousands marching against the autocratic efforts of Israel’s Netanyahu government.
Years earlier he had taught me history about the settlement of Palestine by the Jews. Some was surprising to me, a person raised on Southern Christianity. He urged me to listen to the Martyr Made podcast series that ended by explaining how Zionist terrorism was central to the founding of the modern Israeli state.
