Scones Recipe
Love scones with tea or coffee
I love having a scone or croissant with my morning coffee or with hot tea on a cold winter’s afternoon. For my coffee, please give me my heavenly Dallmayr. As for tea, I prefer a pot steeped with black tea, loose.
I especially love a scone with a steaming cup of tea, a good book, and a comfy high-backed chair and ottoman under the perfectly situated lamp, surrounded by my bookshelves. If I had a cat, there’d be space on the ottoman for them. Of course, any book and cat lover knows you need to leave cubbies on the bookshelves for the kitties too.
How do you take your scones?
Below is my recipe for plain scones. I’ve included some serving suggestions at the end. I especially like them with dried apples or butterscotch chips. But, what you put in them is down to your own mood.
Basically, if you’re making scones, you’ve already embraced the magical chemistry of cooking. You know how to tweak a recipe to suit your mood. So, let the magic flow and light your imagination… get creative!
